After a very solid start and a great follow-up batch of episodes, Avatar: Seven Havens has finally reached what it’s been building up to for its first season. While it’s been delivering a very interesting story for the first six episodes, a lot of the more intriguing parts were shrouded in mystery and happening in the … Read more
Now that we have firmly returned to the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender after twelve long years and had a few episodes to settle in, Seven Havens has kicked off in earnest. After introducing twin Avatars, giving us their out-of-his-depth teenage mentor Jae, and establishing the state of the world, episodes 4-6 work instead on character … Read more
On December 19, 2014, I was home from college for winter break, and my friend organized a watch party at his house for the two-part finale of The Legend of Korra. Fans will know that because things played out so differently in the Netflix show, with Long Feng directly kidnapping Appa and putting him directly in Lake Laogai, there is no Appa’s Lost Days anymore. This … Read more
When we last left our heroes in Episode 3, “City of Walls and Secrets”, the story of the live action adaptation had begun to very fully divert from the source material in Ba Sing Se. I’ve been saying throughout this season that drastically altering from the original story isn’t inherently bad, and in fact it’d … Read more
